hi there!
Jac here, I am a Chicago native, a doctorally prepared nurse, artist, activist, and entrepreneur.
As a nurse, I have dedicated my life and career to serving my community. Currently, I work as a practicing faculty member at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Nursing. At UIC, I also completed my Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner. My doctoral work focused on the mental health of healthcare workers. Specifically, teaching healthcare workers to utilize mindfulness as a tool to support their mental health in a post-pandemic world. My doctoral work has led me to create Words for Monday, a platform to learn about and practice mindfulness.
art & design
My work as a nurse inspired me to create Riot Healers, an ethical healthcare apparel brand. With Riot Healers, I hope to amplify the many voices in healthcare, helping to close the unequal healthcare gap so prevalent in our country and around the world.
In addition to creating for Riot Healers, I take on custom projects for murals, arts/prints, and designs for collaborating organizations and social media creation. Click here to connect with me on your future project.
the blog
While you are here, be sure to check out my blog, where I share all of my passions from holistic practices to travel for the soul and social justice.
Besides art, travel is one of the greatest passions of my life. Be sure to check out my contributions to the Chicago and Innsbruck Conscious City Guides.
Aside from all that,
I am a proud feminist and have the soul of a wood-stock-going flower child. I love my garden, my fur baby Archie, cooking at home, and creating art whenever and wherever I can.
Thank you dearly for stopping by. I am so excited to share my passion for conscious lifestyle with you through this blog.
Question? Thoughts? Ideas to share? Feel free to drop me a line, I’d love to hear from you.
